ST Hi-tec was first established in 1999. The main scope of business was to provide performance parts as well as performance tuning. The business first started in the suburbs of New Market Auckland. The name ST came from the owners initials – Soichi Tate, the main brain behind the business. Prior to his life in NZ, Soichi worked as a head mechanic in Nissan Japan. With his knowledge and experience behind the mighty Nissan engines such as the RB and SR, it wasn’t long before his name became widely known in the car tuning scene. His personal achievements in the past include the well recognised “BNR32″ – VeilSide equipped 800HP R32 Nissan GTR which has won many awards in different competitions.
ST Hi-tec is also responsible for many import events held in New Zealand, such as the VeilSide R34 GTR Land Speed Record, Top Secret Drag Day, as well as the more recent D1GP NZ Series.

As ST Hi-tec’s customer base expanded, the New Market workshop was no longer capable of catering for the amount of tuning work. The solution is to move to a bigger premise. In 2005, ST Hi-tec had secured their new business location – 20A Sylvia Park Road, Mt. Wellington, Auckland. The new workshop is not only twice the size of the previous setup but also hosts a wide variety of new equipment to enable full utilisation of “In-House” tuning. This includes a Dynapack Evolution 4000 4WD hub dyno – The main purpose of the dyno setup is so the customers can tune their car as soon as a new modification part has been added, as well as keeping everything on record for future and cross references. What you will also find in the new workshop are twin vehicle hoists, top quality tools, parts showroom, and a TV lounge with all the latest Japanese DVDs (Option, Drift Tengoku, etc) and Magazines to keep yourself occupied while your car is being worked on.
Please feel free to contact ST for your next performance tuning/modification advice.
